A FESTIVE LANDSCAPE USING OUR MATERIALS BY SCRAPSTORE VOLUNTEER GWEN RIGG
DON'T FORGET - WE REOPEN ON TUESDAY 3RD JANUARY! SEE YOU SOON
We are a registered charity (292075) that collects, from businesses, donated surplus, reject, waste and other materials of every conceivable type and kind that are suitable for re-use by groups, schools and individuals for educational, play or 'arts and crafts' activities, but not for personal or corporate profit or benefit!
You can join us as a member and, for an annual membership fee, collect all sorts of things - the list of them is both endless and ever-changing! You will be required to understand that you are a beneficiary of charity, as above!
Please note that children aged under 12 are NOT allowed inside the Scrapstore, for their own safety - we regret any inconvenience that this might cause.
Shop
In addition, we sell a wide range of attractively priced 'arts and crafts' materials, intended to complement the free scrap materials.
Volunteers
We are run almost entirely by volunteers - both the Scrapstore operation and its management - supported by a part-time paid coordinator.
Suppliers
We are always looking for new supplies - if you've got anything you think might be suitable we're happy to look at it. We have our own van and collect from you - free of charge! We get supplies from all sorts - the big nationals to the corner shop - window displays, relocations, closing down sales - B&Q, Asda, John Lewis, Selfridges, IKEA, Ordnance Survey, the universities, the local authorities, printers, upholsterers, sail-makers, sign-writers - and many more!
Green
We know that we are a great idea, and on a national scale! We stop, or delay, waste going to landfill, and, perhaps more importantly, save on new resources. We provide a convenient collection service to local businesses - free of charge! We enable the community to access affordable materials for education, play and 'arts and crafts' activities.
We are one of a network of about 100 independent Scrapstores across the UK, many of which we visit or meet to swap scrap, which means we can, collectively, handle more material and give our members a bigger range of things. |
